John Fisher’s Comments:

I am sending this email to provide you with notice that Ontario Parks will be initiating an  Ash tree removal program beginning on Monday at Craigleith Provincial Park and Tuesday at various locations throughout Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Primary targets included affected mature trees close to private dwellings and properties, high-use trails, park facilities and buildings, municipal roadways, hydo lines and right-of-ways, etc.  Trees felled will be assessed for either full or partial removal by chipping, physical removal, or left in place on a case-by-case basis depending on proximity to private property and environmental considerations.  Operators will have a copy of the attached Emerald Ash Borer fact sheet on hand to provide to the public as necessary.
